When you visit our website or contact Star Remedies B.V., you sometimes share personal data with us. What are personal data?
Personal data is data that says something about you or can be traced back to you. Think of your name, address, telephone number and e-mail address. We do not process special personal data (such as data on health, religion or ethnic origin).

Persons under 16 years of age
We do not intend to collect data from persons under 16 years of age. However, we cannot always verify whether a visitor is of legal age. If you think we have collected data from a minor without consent, please let us know at [email protected]. We delete that data immediately.

When participating in training courses or purchasing products/services, we process:

3. Invoicing and administration
For our financial records and any direct debits we process:
- Name, address, city
- Email address
- Phone number
- Date of birth (for therapy consultations)
- Insurance details + policy number (for therapy consultations)
- Chamber of Commerce number and VAT number
- IP address (for intra-Community deliveries)
Storing this data falls under the legal basis: legal obligation (tax retention obligation).

4. Requesting a curriculum
When requesting information or a curriculum, we process:
- Name, address, city
- Email address
- Phone number
Storing this data falls under the legal basis: consent.

5. Registration for a course
Upon registration, we process:
- Name and initials
- Maiden name (if applicable)
- Date of birth, place and country of birth
- Address, phone number and e-mail address

6. Newsletter and updates
If you sign up for our newsletter, we use:
- Name
- Email address
You can unsubscribe at any time using the link at the bottom of each mailing.

Cookies
Our website uses only functional cookies necessary for the site to work properly. There are no analytical or tracking cookies posted. You can block cookies through your browser settings, but the site may not function as well.

Data sharing with partners
We work with reliable partners who perform certain services for us, such as:
- Sender: dispatch of newsletters
- Proxhost: web hosting and security of our website
- Administration office / accountant: financial administration
We have processor agreements in place with all these parties. They process data only according to our instructions and comply with the AVG. There are no personal data shared outside the European Economic Area (EEA).

Personal data security
We take appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your data from loss, misuse or unauthorised access. Our security measures include:
- Encrypted connections (SSL/TLS)
- Secure servers at Proxhost (Netherlands)
- Limited access rights to systems
- Strong password and login policies with two-step verification
- Regular backups and software updates
All staff and hired teachers sign a confidentiality agreement.

Retention periods
- E-mail: up to 5 years, unless necessary for ongoing cases or disputes
- Invoices and administration: 7 years (legal retention period)
- Newsletter: deregistration
- Camera footage: 30 days (unless required for research)

Camera security
There are security cameras in and around our training room and warehouse. Images are used exclusively to protect people, goods and the premises. After 30 days, images are automatically deleted unless they are required for a criminal investigation.

Your rights
You have the right to:
- view, correct or delete your data;
- object to processing;
- request restriction of processing;
- withdraw your consent;
- have your data transferred to another party (data portability).
Send your request to [email protected]. To make sure the request comes from you, we ask you to send a copy of an identity document (make passport photo, MRZ, passport number and BSN illegible). We will respond within four weeks.
You can also file a complaint with the Personal Data Authority.

Data breach
Despite all precautions, a data breach can never be completely ruled out. If a data breach occurs, we report it to the Personal Data Authority and - if relevant - to the data subjects within 72 hours. Do you discover a possible data breach yourself? Report this as soon as possible via [email protected].

Liability
This privacy statement only applies to data processed by Star Remedies B.V. itself. We are not responsible for third-party websites or services we link to.

Changes
